I felt that Lindholm/Hobb maintained the high standard I've come to expect from her. Otherwise it's set in the bronze age while CotCB is set in the Cro-Magnon period.
Fortunately I bought both books at the same time at a 2nd hand sale so I was able to immediately continue.Īnyway, I feel that this story and setting bears some similarities to Clan of the Cave Bear in terms of social structure of clans and their very basic understanding of the natural world. It's not so long so I'm not sure why it was split into 2, possibly to attract more hesitant readers. A single story arc spans both books so when I finished book 1, I felt a little cheated. The Reindeer People and Wolf's Brother are really one story split into two books.
